Same Day CEREC Crowns at Ferny Smiles Dental
CEREC Technology – Modern Dentistry at Your Fingertips
When Might You Need a CEREC Crown?
Same-day CEREC crowns may be recommended when a tooth needs added strength or a cosmetic refresh. Common scenarios include:
- A tooth weakened due to decay
- Large or deteriorating fillings
- Cracks, chips, or fractures
- Teeth that have undergone root canal treatment
- Teeth with discolouration or irregular shape requiring cosmetic enhancement
A comprehensive dental assessment at our Ferny Smiles clinic will determine if CEREC technology is the right fit for your unique situation.
Why Choose CEREC Crowns at Ferny Smiles Dental?
All in One Appointment
CEREC allows us to scan, design, manufacture, and place your crown during a single visit — avoiding the need for return appointments and temporary crowns.
Precise Digital Fit
Digital imaging captures the fine detail of your tooth and bite, resulting in a customised fit designed for long-term comfort and function.
Skip the Temporary Crown
With no waiting period, there’s no need for a temporary crown. You leave your appointment with your final ceramic crown securely bonded in place.
Natural-Looking Materials
CEREC crowns are milled from a durable ceramic that mimics the appearance and translucency of natural tooth enamel — blending seamlessly into your smile.
Biocompatible and Metal-Free
For patients seeking a metal-free option, CEREC crowns are made from a ceramic material that is gentle on surrounding tissues and suitable for most individuals.

What Happens During a CEREC Crown Appointment?
Consultation and Tooth Preparation
Your appointment begins with a thorough evaluation to determine the best course of treatment. If a crown is recommended, the tooth is carefully shaped to support a long-lasting restoration.
Digital Impressions
Using a handheld scanner, detailed 3D images of the tooth and surrounding area are captured — replacing the need for traditional moulds.
Custom Design
Advanced software helps us design your crown based on your unique tooth anatomy. You can even view the proposed crown on screen before it’s made.
Onsite Milling
Once the design is finalised, our in-house CEREC machine mills your crown from a solid block of ceramic — typically within 20 minutes.
Fitting and Bonding
Your new crown is then polished, checked for fit and bite accuracy, and permanently bonded. Any final adjustments are made for optimal comfort.
